Hotel silence

With her very personal vision, imbued with emotion, Léa Pool has established herself as one of the great Canadian filmmakers. Her career is punctuated by great achievements, notably La Femme de l’hôtel, Anne Trister, invited to the Berlin Festival in official competition, À Corps perdu, La Demoiselle sauvage and Mouvements du désir which won 8 Genie Award nominations. Emporte-moi won several awards, including the Special Ecumenical Jury Prize at the 49th Berlin Film Festival and Lost and Delirious screened at several festivals. With The Blue Butterfly, she made her first family film. Subsequently, she directed Maman est chez le coiffeur presented at the San Sebastian Film Festival, La dernière fugue based on the novel Une belle mort by Gil Courtemanche and Pink Ribbons Inc., a feature documentary for the NFB. La Passion d’Augustine, released in 2015 and praised by critics, was a great success at the box office. Et au pire, on se mariera, based on the novel by Sophie Bienvenu, was released in theaters in 2017. Hôtel Silence, adapted from the novel Ör by Audur Ava Olafsdottir, a Canadian-Swiss co-production, is her most recent achievement.
