Director statement
Anchored in today’s world, Little Deaths borrows codes from fantasy tales to relate the unspoken love story between two childhood friends who lost touch.
Within a metaphorical and visual story, the film gradually immerses the audience into an unreal nocturnal world devoid of familiar landmarks, exploring mourning and self-acceptance while questioning gender fluidity and the rigid rules of masculinity.
With this film, I want to arouse a delight specific to genre cinema: the lightness of being jostled and deceived as spectator. Like all tales, the film acts as a mirror inviting viewers on a journey between fear, abandonment, and wonder, questioning our intimate relationship with identity and otherness.
